'Thank You' tea

For the last couple of years, the Hollidaysburg Corps has been giving a 'thank you' tea to the local church advisory board for their hard work and dedication throughout the year as they support us. This year, we gave it a Chinese theme and everyone had a great time! We only gave them chopsticks to eat with and served an American/Chinese tea menu. We did give them a spoon for the Won Ton Soup after we had them try to use chopsticks.

These ladies and gentlemen take our information to the local churches that support us and help us meet the needs of the community. It was a privilege to serve those who have been serving at the mission.

Our special guest was "Plum Blossom" also known as "Michelle McGowan", who taught us some history and language used with fans. This got a lot of reactions and laughter. She also taught them the proper way to share tea in the Chinese culture and how to serve your neighbor. You might remember Michelle as the "homeless" lady at our Council Banquet 2008 at the US Hotel. She has many, many facets and shares them with us generously.
