Meeting The Needs Of Families

The American Rescue Workers Inc. National Disaster Response Team and the American Rescue Workers, Inc. Hollidaysburg PA Corps is joining together to do a Disaster Relief Project in Blair County from April 7—13th, 2008!

Projects: Last year we gave out 33,171 items of clothing at our 502 Mulberry Street location.  The clothing room is in disrepair and needs new steps, and some of the walls on the inside are just without sheetrock, showing exposed insulation.  This has been the case for many years and now we have a chance to repair this much needed space. 

In addition, over 150 applications have been sent out to lower income families, three families will be selected to have some in home repairs made which will make a great difference in their lives.

How you can help:

We need volunteers to give of their time and skills, if you are interested in getting involved with this project, please call or email Capt. Evangeline Subisak at (814) 695-0762 or email her at arwHolly@verizon.net.  She will get an application with information out to you asap.

Churches can sponsor a meal for the Disaster Relief Team at their church, to get your church on the schedule please call Christine Martin at (814) 695-0762 or email her at ArwAuctions@aol.com.

Individuals can volunteer their time and skills, or donate to us financially.  This is a great way to help us in “meeting the needs of families” here in our community.
